Ride Safe. Drive Aware.

Share the Road

Collin was a bright light in our community, tragically taken too soon in a motorcycle accident.  Collin’s passion for life and love for riding are what we want to honor by promoting motorcycle safety for both riders and drivers.

Motorcyclists: Gear Up, Stay Alert

  • Helmets save lives. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), helmets reduced the risk of death by 37% for motorcycle riders in 2021 [1]. Always wear a DOT-compliant helmet that fits properly.
  • Dress for the slide, not the ride. Leathers or heavy textile gear offer the best protection in a crash.
  • See and be seen. Use your headlight during the day and wear bright, reflective clothing.
  • Ride within your limits. Avoid speeding, alcohol, and distractions. Take a motorcycle safety course to hone your skills.

Drivers: Share the Road, Look Twice

  • Motorcycles are smaller and harder to see. Check your mirrors and blind spots before turning or changing lanes. Give motorcycles a full lane of space.
  • Yield the right of way. Motorcycles have the same rights and privileges as other vehicles on the road.
  • Be aware of motorcycle blind spots. Large vehicles can obscure motorcycles from view.
  • Avoid distractions. Put down your phone and focus on the road.

By following these simple safety tips, we can all help prevent motorcycle accidents and tragedies like the one that took Collin.  Together, let’s create a safer riding environment for everyone.
